Humble Yourselves: You Don’t Know It All

Oh humble yourselves
You who know nothing
Except for your learning
Your values, your ways

You who want better
For me and my life
Inspiring, well-meaning
Soldiers of light

Your degrees, your paper
One wavelength of light
Your reading, your knowledge
Only part of a whole

Humble yourselves
You do not know it all
You only know a part
So stop your preaching

Instead close your mouths
Silence your expertise
Commit to learning
Learning from me

Humble yourselves
Sit beside me
Ask me questions
The ultimate enquiry

Hear from the expert
On how I tick
On how you can help
Open, receiving

Humble yourselves
Use your ears, your ears
Get the full picture of me
The full spectrum of light

You need your knowledge
You need to learn
But it means nothing
Without humble ears

Humble yourselves
Scales will fall from your eyes
And then I promise you
You will become wise.
